Holy Moly....that was fast! Our year 2000 baby turned 10 this week. I cannot believe it. Didn't he look like Mark when Mark was a baby? That's Mark on the left and G on the right...awwww....
G is the comedian in the family...always making us laugh. He's got great comedic timing.
He got a magic 8 ball from a friend for his bday and one of the first questions he asked it was, "will i have a midlife crisis?" and was all excited about it when the answer was "it is decidedly so". Then, without skipping a beat, he says "mom...what's a midlife crisis?"
I found this Super G t-shirt at a garage sale when he was a baby. It's like a 3X adult tshirt and it's a tent on him, but he loves it. Sleeps in it every night. Best garage sale score...EVER.
He ADORES Legos and requested a yellow lego brick birthday cake for his party. Compared to the Spongebob and Storm Trooper and Thomas the Tank cakes i've made in the past this is going to be easy peasy...right? WRONG. It was my first cake disaster. I should have known that it was doomed when i dropped an entire carton of eggs (an 18 pack!) on the floor as i was baking the cake!
Cleaning up 18 eggs off of the floor is a lot harder than you would think! Ick!
I had to bake 2 sheet cakes and a batch of cupcakes to make this cake. That went well. The disaster didn't begin until i frosted it. Just as i finished putting the last cupcake on the cake, i begin to see this small crack down the center of the cake which quickly turned into a major faultline...
It just went downhill very quickly from there...faster than i could think of how to fix it. Of course, as you can see, i found time to grab the camera! :-)
I was in a bit of a panic because i had ten 10 year old boys coming over within an hour and my cake was in ruins. So, i improvised, drew a quick tombstone, cut it out and stuck it in the mess. It was a HUGE hit with the guys. Who would have thunk it?!
Happy Birthday, G...we love you so much!
