It was such a lovely evening. I am so happy with how it went. It was a whirlwind of a day leading up to it...packing everything up at home and loading the van. Then, setting it all up in the tent before everyone arrived was a little nutty. My sister, Kim, came with me and helped me get it all put together. Thank you, God, for her!
Words cannot express how much it meant to me to have my family and friends there. I don't know why I was so nervous about that...but as it turns out, having them there felt so great and was very comforting. They came, they stayed, they mingled, they browsed. They showered me with sweet accolades, hugs and love. I have been overwhelmed over the past few days by the sweet emails, comments on my blog, phone calls and visits from friends and family who couldn't be there last night, but wanted to wish me good luck. It means the world to me. I am definitely feelin' the love. Thank you, everyone!
For those who couldn't be there, take a peek:
Here is my tent next to Jenny's studio:
I made these for my promotional postcard and attached them to craft sticks. It was SO hot and sticky last night, so people were happy to have a fan. I'm going to have to put my friend, Martha on the payroll...she came up with the genius popcorn filler idea for the bushels. Cute, whimsical and eco-friendly!
I made these, too:
I sold one of these:
I did actually sell a few more things. I really didn't know what to expect, so the sales that I did have were great!
Me and Jenny:
These dolls are some of Jenny's newest pieces:
and, my personal fave:
What an awesome experience. I cannot thank Jenny enough for inviting me to be the guest artist last night. I am so inspired to get out there and do more. Thanks for the nudge, Jenny...now, get out there and blog!
A HUGE thank you goes to my big sister, Kim, who put a ton of sweat equity into last night. She baked cookies, made dinner for our kids, washed the tent, lugged my stuff and stayed with me the whole time. I cannot believe i didn't get a picture of us together. We both showed up unknowingly wearing the same thing...khaki capris and a white shirt. We do that ALL the time. I love you so much.
Finally, to Mark, K, R & G...thank you for supporting me and allowing me to monopolize some of our summer for my art. You have done so much to help me and really pitched in so that i could spend more time in my studio. Thank you for that. It has been a great gift that you've given me. You are my heart, my life and my inspiration. I love you!
You don't know me, but I'm so glad you had such a wonderful experience. I know that it's a lot of work--I've done it many times. But it is very rewarding to sell your own creations and be complimented on your work. I hope you keep it up--you are young and can do this for many years! Linda

Thank you for your sweet nod and appreciation...but it's me who should be thanking you. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your creative process and to benefit from your company. I adore you and love you so much. xo, mik
