I painted the Honeymoon Suite sign and the Do not disturb over and on our bedroom door several years ago. This past weekend, we celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. I am blessed with an incredible husband whom I am madly in love with. He is an amazing father to our 3 children, which makes me love him even more. He still gives me butterflies...
We met in the 7th grade, but didn't start dating until we went away to Purdue. We went on our first date in October of our Freshman year {the picture above is of that actual first date...a fraternity barn dance} and we married the month after graduation. So, to celebrate each year, we take our kids to Purdue for a day and run around campus visiting all our old favorite places. It's incredibly romantic and sentimental for us, and our kids already have a connection and love for our alma mater, too. They've heard all of our stories {well, not ALL of them :-)} and I think, they already look forward to going to college someday because of it.
They run through the fountain on campus:
They roll down Slayter Hill {a place for pep rallies and concerts}:
We saw the school mascot; the Boilermaker Special, and G decided that he would definitely be going to Purdue one day to major in TRAIN engineering. :-)
We had a picnic lunch on the lawn on campus, got ice cream and even found a letterbox on campus. It was a really fun day. Happy Anniversary, Babe. I love you.
