The fourth graders at G's school are learning about different careers. The teachers asked all the parents at the school to fill out a form with a brief description of our jobs if we were willing to correspond with the kids who wrote to us with questions. So, last week I received letters from some of the kids. They were so cute! One boy wanted to know how much time I spend on my job every day because he wants a job that won't take up too much time out of his day. Too funny! What a great project for 10 year olds! I have to admit, when i was a kid, i didn't know that you could have a career as an artist. I had heard the term "starving artist" and figured that i was going to have to have a plan B. I knew I'd always want to draw and paint, but i never thought that i could make any money doing it, let alone have a career in it. That's why I was so happy to volunteer to help with this project.
So, i wrote them back and answered their questions and sent them to school in these big, decorated, orange envelopes. I love my job.
