Oh how i wish you could have been at my Open Studio. We had so much fun and it was such a lovely day. I thought i would share some highlights. Lots of new art that i don't even have in the shop yet. But, they'll make it in there this week. I've got tons of custom orders to fill...so hang in there! Thank you to all who stopped by. Your visit meant so much to me! It's always so sweet to be surrounded by friends and family.
Asking people to come see your art is sort of like baring your soul {not to sound overly dramatic}. But, seriously, it's a very vulnerable feeling. You want everyone to look, but you feel a little naked. It's hard to describe.
Anyhow, there's talk of fall trunk shows and there will certainly be a holiday Open Studio in November! However, the studio's always brimming with art and anytime you're in the area, stop by and see me!
My little sister, Susan painted these shelves pink for me. They used to be dark chocolate brown. They were nice, but felt like a dark void in the corner. I already had this paint {mark calls in pepto pink and is sure we will never get indigestion again} in my stash and Susan stepped up to get them done for me in time for the show! I think the happy houses and milk glass really pop against the pink. Thanks, Sus. I LOVE them.
a freshly baked batch of new recipe cards...
My mom made these adorable tissue paper garlands. I first found the inspiration on Lizzy's blog. K and I cut all the paper out and brought them over to my Mom. I love how she put her own style into them and overlapped and arranged the paper. We've been brainstorming some great ideas on how we can re-invent these for different holidays and occasions. We sold several strands of them.
My sweet friend, Jane, aka "Fun with Frannie" hooked me up with these adorable balloon daisies.
And...of course she made a whole gaggle of fun balloon flowers, swords, and critters for the little ones who came with their mamas. Thanks, Jane....as always they were a hit!
the goodies table in the kitchen...Kim, you ROCK
a new whimsy studios offering...cupcake or hors d'oeuvre (had to dictionary.com that one) picks. Not sure if i will continue to make them. They're tedius work...just ask my teenagers. Thanks, guys! ♥
Again, a BIG big thanks and hugs and kisses to my family, who all pitched in...in so many ways to get ready for this. I love you all so much. xo
So sorry I missed this one! I L-O-V-E the new recipe cards! Let me know when they are in the shop. I would love to feature them. Hopefully we can get together soon. Miss you big bunches :)
