Save the Gulf with L♥ve

 
Those of you who know me personally or those of you who are regular readers of my blog know how much i love the Gulf.  My family spends our summer vacation annually in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Remember this and this?

Along with the rest of the world, we are completely heart sick about the oil spill in the Gulf.  We are saddened for the people who face an uncertain future, for the destruction of the white powder beaches and of course, for the sea creatures, who are suffering and dying.  This is like a nightmare hurricane that just won't quit. 

Living in Indiana, so many miles away from our beloved Gulf, i have felt helpless.  We are bombarded with the horrible news coverage every day.  So...i was inspired to create the illustration at the top of my post, of so many of the Gulf's residents.  It is listed in my etsy shopfor $20.  $15 of every sale will go to the National Wildlife Federation and the Gulf Oil Spill Restoration Fund that they have established.  The remaining $5 covers shipping and the cost of printing and shipping it to you.  I promise to keep you updated from time to time about how much we have raised. 

So, if you've thought to yourself, "how can i help?"...this is it.  If you've ever spent time on the Gulf of Mexico, if you have made memories there...and want to contribute to the efforts to save it, think about purchasing one of these prints.
